A Sikh panthic group, Dal Khalsa, has knocked the doors of Amnesty International, an NGO into protection of prisoners’ rights, urging it to intervene in the matter “without delay”.
Dal Khalsa has written a letter to the Amnesty International director to initiate a campaign not only for the release of six “detainees” whose release is sought by Gurbaksh Singh through his hunger strike, but also to save his “precious” life.
Party’s head HS Dhami and spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh, in a joint statement, said that while Gurbaksh Singh has steadfastly maintained his grit and determination despite falling health issues, Punjab seems to be waiting in to either let him die or to force-feed him as they did some days back.
