Under fire over the rise in heinous crime against girl child and women in the state, Haryana Finance Minister, Capt Abhimanyu on Tuesday said that the entire cabinet is worried over the recent incidents of violence against women in the state.
The Minister, while talking to the mediapersons after the cabinet said that he wants to assure the people that any misdeed would not be tolerated and the culprits would be severely punished.
The government had taken a serious note of such incidents which had left a negative impact on the society as well as on the state, said he.
With the opposition parties demanding resignation of Chief Minister Manohar lal, the Finance Minister said that the opposition parties, instead of grinding their own axe, should shoulder their responsibility to the society and help the administration in taking on the nefarious elements so that such misdeeds could be prevented.
In reply to a question on government’s failure to provide safety to girls under ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padao’ campaign, Capt Abhimanyu claimed that the present government has carried out a holistic campaign during the last three years to ensure strict compliance of the PC and PNDT Act as a result of which the sex ratio in the state had improved considerably.
Meanwhile, the former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has described the law and order situation as "worrisome" in Haryana.
Hooda said the party legislators will meet here on Wednesday to discuss the burning issue and "rising crime graph" of the state. A party delegation will also be meeting the state Governor to apprise him about the present situation, he added.
Four to five incidents of rape being reported within a span of just 48 hours is shocking. The crime graph has been going up during the past three years of Khattar government rule, claimed the two-time former Chief Minister.
