Craftsvilla to engage underprivileged vendors

Craftsvilla.com, online shopping store for sarees, salwar suits, lehengas, jewellery, home decor and other ethnic products, is starting an initiative to aggressively engage underprivileged vendors through a payback commission model.

The e-commerce major is the only profitable large scale e-commerce operation in the country, and so far, has never had any incentive scheme to attract vendors.

However, their decision to offer payback commission and include the lowest strata of society into e-commerce, is a first of its kind initiative in the Indian e-commerce space.

Manoj Gupta, CEO and Co-Founder craftsvilla.com says, “We are extremely happy that we are in a position to offer payback commission to deprived artisans, especially women artisans and tribal artisans who are economically backward. We will actually pay them rather than charge them commission for each sale.”
