CPS Tinu accuses SAD of adopting 'discriminatory policy'

Struggling hard to come out of the worst-ever political crisis, the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Friday received another political jolt when its MlA and Chief Parliamentary Secretary Pawan Kumar Tinu accused his party for adopting “discriminatory policy” as far as development of his constituency is concerned.

Adampur MlA even went on to say that he would not contest the next assembly polls from the constituency, if the situation does not improve.

“Two years back, Deputy Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of sewerage project in my constituency, but so far not even a brick has been laid. Under such circumstances, how will I face the public in the next election,” Tinu said.

“The sewerage project was in the priority list of developmental projects to be completed before 2017, but conspicuously name of the project was deleted from the list by Chief Minister’s office,” claimed Tinu adding that he would make a final call on the issue after December 4 rally in Jalandhar.

He said that owing to his preoccupation with the SAD’s sadbhawna rally preparations, scheduled for December 4, he would take up the issue only after that. “I will meet Deputy Chief Minister after December 4 to apprise him with my grievances,” he said.

The foundation stone for the said project was laid by Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal in February 2014, just before the lok Sabha polls. Though Sukhbir, while laying the foundation stone, has declared that the project would be completed within two years, it has failed to see the light till date due to paucity of funds.

This is not for the first time that the SAD has been embarrassed by its own leaders. Besides the opposition leaders, who have always accused the SAD for prioritising its own segments in terms of development works, the BJP leaders and MlAs, and now its own leaders have raised accusing fingers against its own government.

After SAD MlA and CPS Inderbir Singh Bolaria raised a banner of revolt against the SAD-led Government over the issue of setting up of sewage treatment plant, party’s MlA from Jalandhar Cantonment Pargat Singh also registered his protest against the setting up of solid waste management plant in his constituency. Now, Tinu is the third leader to talk against his own Government.
