In Haryana, the consumers would be able to pay water and sewerage bills on the spot by using debit and credit cards through the mPOS (mobile point of sale) system available with the meter reader.
With a view to facilitate the consumers in the state, Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) has added this new feature. This service is free of cost and these payments would be reflected directly in the consumers’ accounts, said an official spokesman.
He said that for the convenience of general public, a live DEMO of the system will be held on May 31 at 11 am in conference hall, 2nd Floor, Inderdhanush Auditorium, Sector-5, Panchkula.
The spokesman said that initially, the pilot implementation is made in Panchkula and thereafter, it would be rolled out in other urban estates as well.
He said that HUDA had started spot billing and online collection of water and sewerage billing system. Under the process, spot bills are generated and delivered to the consumer instantly. Currently, there are other modes available for the consumers to pay their bills, including Mobile App (HUDA Pay App), net banking, bank branches and HUDA counters, he added.
