Congress warns Kejriwal, AAP to stop corrupting people of Punjab

Reacting to the latest revolt in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) by former Indian women hockey team captain Rajbir Kaur, Punjab Congress on Monday said that it was evident that the corruption in the party had assumed gigantic proportions.

“The situation is threatening to corrupt the very fabric of the State, which is already reeling under the destructive forces unleashed by the Badals,” said senior Congress leaders including former Chief Minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, laal Singh, and Sunil Kumar Jakhar.

They said that the corruption in the party was apparently so deep-rooted and extensive that no genuine person or worker could hope to get a ticket, leaving only dishonest people to remain in the electoral fray on behalf of AAP.

“Kejriwal and his party have scaled the heights of moral bankruptcy,” said the Congress leaders urging the people of Punjab not to allow AAP to further destroy the state’s democratic fibre.

Failure to do so would lead to complete collapse of the state’s political and social structures, they said while warning against allowing the AAP leadership to corrupt the people of the state and destroy its electoral institutions.
