Having boycotted the Governor’s address on the first day of the Budget session, Congress on Wednesday walked out of the Business Advisory Committee meeting, saying their demand was not being addressed.
Congress legislature Party (ClP) leader Charanjeet Singh Channi said that they have demanded extension of the session for 2 days as the opposition party has a lot of issues to discuss but the ruling alliance did not give a heed to the issues of public interest.
He said that Congress had given a list of 13 core issues for discussion during the session, but in the Business Advisory Committee’s meeting, their issues were put aside and the ruling alliance is taking undue advantage of their majority in the House.
Condemning the move of bringing a resolution on the issue of river waters of Punjab, Channi said that we had already given adjournment motion on the issue of SYl but the government is bringing a resolution on the same issue, which is not right and ethical.
Channi said that they will take up the issue of breach of privilege motion against Deputy chief minister Sukhbir Badal on Thursday in the House.
