Congress on sticky ground, stitching unethical alliances: Hry CM

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal on Sunday said that the Congress is on a sticky ground due to which it is today stitching unethical alliances ahead of the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

“Those who did not see eye to eye are today joining hands to face the ruling BJP at the Centre as the saffron party during its five year rule had not only ensured welfare and development in all sectors but also protected the borders of the country,” the Chief Minister said while addressing ‘Vijay Sankalp’ rallies in Panipat and Rohtak.

Manohar Lal also targeted the opposition Congress for making poll promises which posed a threat to the security and national integrity of the country besides boosting the morale of separatist and divisive forces.

He said that the Congress poll promise in its manifesto to repeal Section 124-A (Sedition) showed its anti-national stand as compared with the nationalist policies adopted by the Prime Minister Narendar Modi led government at the Centre.

He said that Congress says that one who talks of dividing the country will be pardoned. This is the philosophy of the Congress which would only weaken the country, the Chief Minister added.

Lashing out at the Congress, Manohar Lal said that for electoral gains the main opposition party is ready to put the country at stake even as Modi through his actions has raised the standing of the country in the world.

He said that the voters of Amethi sought report card from Congress chief Rahul Gandhi of his achievements during his 15 years tenure, but the Congress president in his efforts to save the identity of his party also filed nomination from Wayanad (Kerala) Lok Sabha constituency in south.

The Chief Minister said that Rahul Gandhi forgot that voters of Amethi will throw him out due to his non-performance. “The alliances being forged by him now will burst like a bubble after the Lok Sabha election,” he added.

Manohar Lal also targeted the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal saying the AAP convenor is fishing in troubled waters. At one time he (Kejriwal) says there will be no alliance, then he calls Jannayak Janta Party, Congress but shows them the door, the Chief Minister said adding that since there is lack of trust as no one is ready to tread along with each other.

Taking a dig at Congress’ Parivartan Yatra in Haryana, he said that seven contenders of Chief Minister in the state travelled together.

Coincidentally at the same time the post of Leader of Opposition got vacated as 2 INLD MLAs parted ways with the party, he said adding that the Congress, which has more MLAs than the INLD, now faces internal bickering on the appointment of Leader of Opposition.

Manohar Lal further said that the Congress is allegedly involved in various scams, including 2G, Coal or grabbing of land.

He said that in Haryana, the former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda being a suspect in corruption cases is seen visiting CBI, Supreme Court, and High Court etc.

The assets of Rohtak MP Deepender Hooda were Rs 6.5 crore in 2009 which rose to Rs 35.5 crore in 2014. On being asked about the phenomenal rise, Deepender said he got the wealth in his marriage, Manohar Lal added.

Continuing his tirade against the former CM, Manohar Lal said that Bhupinder Singh Hooda has declared 900 gm gold in 2004 which rose to 5 Kgm in 2014. How did so much increase take place, the Chief Minister questioned adding that the Congress is allegedly deeply involved in corruption.

The Chief Minister said that during Congress regime, corruption was alleged in every sector whether it was employment, supply of drinking and irrigation water, power etc.

He said that steps had also been taken to restore law and order by taking action against criminals. Power rates were reduced by half providing relief to various residents and 24 hours power supply was also ensured, he added.

Manohar Lal said that the recent successful demonstration of anti-satellite missile test had bolstered the country’s security in space besides demonstrating India’s ability to come at par with the US, Russia and China – the only three countries to have achieved this feat.

The development shows that if given proper atmosphere Indians are capable of achieving anything,” he said.

Manohar Lal said that on May 12, when Haryana goes to the poll for 10 Lok Sabha seats, the Congress has to be wiped out. “This should be our pledge,” he added.

He said that today the contest is between Narendra Modi and Congress president Rahul Gandhi, but can he stand along the Prime Minister.

Referring to the large turnout of public at his functions, Manohar Lal said that this showed that the people are putting their seal of approval on the five years rule at the Centre and of four and half year rule in Haryana.
