Congress demands immediate withdrawal of cases registered against Dalits in Sangrur

Punjab Congress on Wednesday demanded immediate withdrawal of cases registered against Dalits from Balad Kalan and other villages where they are struggling for their rights.

Supporting their demand, Punjab Congress legislature Party (ClP) leader Charanjit Singh Channi staged a protest in front of Bhawanigarh police station along with party leaders Surinder Pal Singh Sibia, Rajinder Deepa, Mai Roop Kaur, Daaman Bajwa and Poonam Kangra, and hundreds of party workers.

The party also demanded immediate registration of cases against those police officials who were involved in lathi-charge on the dalits.

Channi made it clear that the Congress was with them in this struggle.
