Congress demands Dhadrianwale case to be handed over to CBI

Published on:

Punjab Congress on Wednesday reiterated its demand for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the attack on Patiala-based Sikh preacher Baba Ranjit Singh Dhandriawale.

The demand was once again put forth by Congress legislative Party leader Charanjit Singh Channi, after meeting the Sikh preacher at Parmeshwar Dwar.

He said that there is no faith in the Punjab police’s inquiry as they are totally managing the show one-sided till now.

“One associate of Baba Dhanrianwale was killed in the incident…How can the SGPC today form a peace committee and try to make a compromiseIJ Is there any law in this country for the people who murdered a saint in daylight and ran awayIJ” questioned Channi while stressing upon a time-bound CBI inquiry into the whole incident.

Commenting on the law and order situation in Punjab, Channi said that the SAD-BJP has utterly failed on this front. “Number of incidents related to various crimes is increasing day by day,” he said.
