Punjab Congress was out in all strength at the Shaheedi Jor Mela here giving a call to all parties to unite on the issue of drug menace.
Addressing the conference organised by Congress, Punjab Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa said that drug menace is most alarming problem. Holding SAD-BJP Government responsible for the drug menace, he called upon all Opposition parties to come together and launch a decisive fight against drug menace.
Bajwa alleged that SAD-BJP Government had patronised drug mafia in Punjab and the exposure of international drug racket should be an eye opener for people of State. He listed unemployment as another problem saying it had taken shape of monster and SAD-BJP Government had failed to provide job to educated youth as in the last six years only 6 percent of total registered unemployed youth were given jobs. Bajwa claimed that Central Government was pushing funds into Punjab under various schemes but mismanagement and pilferage had driven the state into economic crisis. Several Congress leaders spoke on the occasion.
