Cong V-P meets UT newspaper editors

Published on:

Congress vice-president and the de facto prime ministerial candidate of the party, Rahul Gandhi, held a meeting with the editors of the newspapers of the region and spoke his mind out. However, most of the answers were on the predicted lines and there was nothing new which has not come in the speeches of Gandhi or his interactions with the media over a period of time.

The interaction, in which around 25 senior journalists of the region, including the vernacular dailies, were present, was strictly “off the record” and was not meant for reporting.

Top party leaders of the region — AICC general secretary in-charge of Punjab and Haryana Shakeel Ahmad, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Haryana PCC president Ashok Tanwar, Punjab Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa and leader of Opposition Sunil Jakhar were also present in the 40-minute interaction.
