Cong targets those who stay in discipline: Punjab’s ex-Dy CM Randhawa

Published on:

A day before Amarinder Singh Raja Warring is scheduled to take over the charge as the new president of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC), fresh signs of rebellion were surfaced on Thursday with former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa mincing no words to say that the grand old party targeted those who stay in discipline.

The senior party leader and Dera Baba Nanak MLA went on to say that he was not as respected as he should be, but despite that, he did not abuse Congress.

Randhawa, in an interview with a TV news channel, said that the Congress members should take the new party president in confidence and treat him like a brother.

Lashing out at former party chief Navjot Singh Sidhu, Randhawa said that Sidhu meeting the Governor without meeting the party members is an “indisciplined” act.

“They should take the new Congress president in confidence. They should give him the leadership. Raja Warring is a younger brother, he should have taken him along. It is indiscipline that Sidhu met Governor without meeting the party,” he said.

Randhawa said: “Surjit Dhiman was a good MLA. If he has been expelled, he should file an explanation. Congress targets those who stay in discipline. People not being disciplined are given more importance. I was not as respected as I should be. I did not abuse Congress.”
