Criticising both the SAD-BJP alliance and the Congress, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday stated that after watching the trailer of Udta Punjab, the Badals have realised that the movie will unearth the facts and display the reality of their wrongdoings in Punjab.
“It is open that (Bikram Singh) Majithia is running the drug business in Punjab and ruining the lives of youth in Punjab,” said AAP campaign committee chairman and Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann.
At the same time, Mann criticised Punjab Congress chief Capt Amarinder Singh for befooling the people on the issue of drugs by coining Majitha as Mexico. “The same Capt shielded Majithia earlier, and is now trying to show that he is against him,” he said.
Mann said that when it came to light in the ED investigation that drug paddlers in Punjab are directly linked with Majithia, Capt Amarinder had then shielded Majithia. “He even opposed the CBI inquiry against his ‘nephew’ in the drug case. Now, Capt Amarinder is trying to get political mileage out of the issue by saying that he will show unedited copies of the movie,” he said, adding that the people of Punjab will not buy this as they already know the alliance of Majithia-Captain families.
He questioned that why Punjab government is not pursuing the case of ludhiana City Scam in which Amarinder is the prime accused. Why Majithia and Badal families are mum about the black money case in which Amarinder’s son Raninder is called by the ED, he questioned.
Reacting to Capt Amarinder’s statement regarding “settlement” between Mann and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitely, Mann said that his alliance is with the people of Punjab only and only Maharajas have tendency of doing this type of dirty things to get political benefits.
Everyone know that who had a secret pact with Mughals and British in the past and with Badals now, he said.
On the issue of movie ‘Udta Punjab’ movie, Mann said that art and movies are the reflection of any society and it should not be controlled by political pressure.
