Punjab Congress legislators on Friday gave a clear message to its Government -- perform or perish.

Repeatedly, several Congress MLAs reminded the Government of living up to the people's expectations and fulfilling the promises.

"We should fulfill our promises we made with the people. Those who had done wrong or not fulfilled their promises, are facing the consequences now," said Sham Chaurasi MLA Pawan Kumar Adia.

He said this while asking the state Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Razia Sultana to ensure supply of clean drinking water to the people of Kandi area.

The issue was raised during the question hour by Congress MLA Sangat Singh Gilzian, who highlighted that the previous SADBJP government did nothing to provide safe and clean drinking water to the Kandi area despite making tall promises, and two years of the Congress Government have also lapsed.

"A person from each house in Kandi area is suffering from cancer because of water," he said while insisting that clean water be provided at the earliest as the Congress Government has also not done anything in this regard.

Razia said that the Government has sanctioned Rs 10 crore for the purpose.

Another Congress MLA from Amloh Randeep Singh Nabha take on the state Forest Minister Sadhu Singh Dharmasot as he failed to provide him full details regarding the nature parks in the state and the money spent on it.

Nabha, during the Question Hour, pointed that a nature park in Nabha is in shambles where the statue of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi has been installed. Flashing the photographs of park, Nabha claimed that it had become a garbage dumping ground. "This park does not figure in the list given by the Minister. Why the government was hiding if we do not want to give reply? Let there be a probe," he said.
