Cong misrule derailed economy, says Dhumal

Coming down heavily on the critics of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who has just completed a month in office, senior BJP leader and former Chief Minister, Prem Kumar Dhumal, said that it is too early to assess the new Government over its achievements.

Talking to The Pioneer, Dhumal said that during decades of Congress misrule, the economy of the country had been derailed by corrupt Congress rulers who fearlessly indulged in mega scams bringing the country on the brink of bankruptcy.

He asked the Congress leaders what they expected from Modi in a short span of just one month in a country ravaged by Congress rulers ruthlessly for over six decades.

Dhumal said immediately on coming to power, Prime Minister Modi took up the issue of black money deposited in foreign banks successfully and the Swiss Government had happily agreed to disclose the names of the depositors. This has caused panic among the former Congress rulers as their names were likely to figure in the list.

The former CM said all development work in Himachal Pradesh had come to a grinding halt. The aged and infirm Congress leadership had done nothing since it came to power except witch-hunting and tormenting its opponents.
