Cong leader sent legal notice to Capt Abhimanyu

Former Haryana Minister and State Congress spokesman Krishan Murti Hooda has sent a legal notice to Finance Minister Capt. Abhimanyu asking him to tender apology within 15 days for his remarks against former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda or face defamation case.

I have sent a legal notice to Capt Abhimanyu for his statement accusing former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda and his close aides and other Congress workers of inciting violence during Jat reservation agitation 2016 and planning an attack at his Rohtak residence, said Krishan Murti Hooda on Thursday.

Referring to the chargesheet filed by the CBI before a Panchkula court into the attack at his Rohtak residence during the February 2016 Jat reservation stir, Haryana Minister Capt. Abhimnayu had claimed that it was a pre-planned political controversy hatched by people associated with the former Chief Minister Hooda.

The Minister had also said that the names that figure in the charge-sheet are directly linked to the son of a former minister, MlA and leader of the Congress party. Those who broke the curfew, violated the orders and were involved in the incidents of violence were linked to Congress and Hooda, he had claimed.

On the other hand, the two-time former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda had denied the allegations.

The notice sent to Capt Abhimanyu stated, “The statement was made by you with malafide intention and ulterior motive to lower the dignity and reputation of ex-CM Hooda, his close associates and Congress workers. The statement is completely defamatory, scandalous and has maligned the image of ex-CM and others.”

“This seems to be a false propaganda of distorted facts to attain political mileage, false sympathy, to create hype to gain political benefit and create hysteria in media and society. The reply to this notice if not received in writing coupled with due publication of apology in media within 15 days of this notice, a defamation case will be filed,” the notice added.
