The new BJP Government in Himachal Pradesh will review all the major decisions taken by the previous Virbhadra Singh-led Congress Government at the fag end of its tenure.

Addressing media in his first press conference, at Peterhoff, Shimla, after being designated as the next Chief Minister, Jai Ram Thakur on Monday said that all the major policy decisions taken by the previous Government in the last three months of its tenure would be reviewed.

On the priorities of his new Government, Thakur said that doing away with VIP culture and practice of re-employment and extension to the officers would be done away with. He said all the retired and tired officers, working after getting extensions would have to go.

Expressing his concern over the financial health of the State, Jai Ram said that the new Government was inheriting a debt ridden economy and further financial burden on  exchequer would not be allowed.

He said that soon after formation of new council of Ministers, all decisions taken by his predecessor Virbhadra Singh in the last three months would be reviewed; however, he made it clear that the status of Dharamshala would not be changed.

Dharamshala had been declared second Capital of Himachal Pradesh by the previous Congress Government. He said that vendetta politics would not be allowed in the new Government.
