Cong Govt’s intentions on privatisation of health services mala fide: AAP

Published on:

AAP on Friday ridiculed Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Brahm Mohindra for his “turnaround” on the much-hyped issue of privatization of health services in the state.

Expressing surprise over Mohindra’s statement that the government had never ever favoured privatizing health services in the state, the Leader of Opposition in Vidhan Sabha Harpal Singh Cheema lambasted the Minister for “lying” on the issue that had suddenly surfaced after a government advertisement appeared in the newspapers. “Like education, the government is insensitive to the cause of public health. The spike in swine flu cases, wreaking havoc in rural and urban areas, is indicative of their insensitivity towards peoples’ health and wellness. It is more shocking than surprising that his home district, Patiala, is topping the list of swine flu cases,” he said.
