Chandigarh: Trashing the argument by the State DG of Police Sumedh Saini that a ‘hardened criminal’ like Jagdish Bhola has no right to seek a CBI probe, Punjab Congress on Thursday termed it as “nothing but double speak, double standards and a bizarre logic”.The party also flayed Saini’s “politically-motivated statement “under pressure from Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal to save his brother-in-law Bikram Majithia from facing a fair investigation that will lead to his arrest”. Party spokesman Sukhpal Singh Khaira asked, “why then are they running away from a CBI inquiryIJ The Badal Govt is terrified over the idea of fair investigation, as they are sure of deep-rooted involvement of not only Majithia but many other Ministers and senior police officers”.
