All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary and Punjab affairs in-charge, Shakeel Ahmad would lead a high level delegation to President Pranab Mukherjee to demand imposition of President’s rule in the State.
The party on Saturday said that this was necessary as continuation of the Badal Government was “not in the national interest”.
Punjab Congress President Partap Singh Bajwa on Saturday also gave a call to the Punjabis for political and social boycott of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and the Shiromani Akali Dal for allegedly pushing the State towards “chaos”.
Reacting to the situation in the state, Bajwa said the Chief Minister had lost not only the grip over the administration but also moral authority to rule as it were the policies followed by him and his party leaders that were responsible for the present turbulence.
