Cong condemns Hry Govt's decision

Haryana Congress on Thursday condemned the decision of BJP Government led by Chief Minister Manhohar lal, to put on hold 20 per cent reservation for the Schedule Caste (SC) employees in departmental promotions approved in January 2015.

Terming it as another U-turn by BJP-led Haryana Government, Kiran Choudhry, leader of Haryana Congress legislature Party said that barely four months after clearing quota in promotions for the Dalit staff, the BJP Government has gone back on it, upsetting the staff  who are feeling let down.

In a statement issued here, the former Excise and Taxation Minister said, “It is not for nothing that the Khattar Government is being called a government of U-turns, let-downs and going back on the promises made to the people.”

“Going back on the poll promises has now become second nature with the Khattar Government. It is not for the first time that it has taken a U-turn on its promise. There is a long list of the unfulfilled promises. These include paying government employees on par with Punjab pay-scales, doubling the education allowance for their children and regularizing ad hoc employees,” she said.

She said, “In the run-up to the polls, the BJP had also promised to increase the old age pension to Rs 2,000, but it played with the sentiments of the people and added insult to injury while increasing it by only by Rs 200 per month.”
