Chandigarh Congress has strongly condemned the move of the BJP led Municipal Corporation for closing two parking lots at Sahib Singh and Empire Store in Sector 17 here.
Pardeep Chhabra, president Chandigarh Congress and area councillor in a statement issued on Sunday said that the decision is illogical and anti traders, anti people and will badly affect the business of the traders.
He said that there was no reason to close the two public friendly parkings just to make the multi-level parking in Sector 17 successful .
He said that when the decision of constructing the multi level parking was taken nowhere it was said that that the two existing parkings would have to be closed after that.
Chhabra said that this is another anti people step of the BJP Government which has history of taking such anti people decisions.
