Cong conceded defeat even before start of election: SAD

The ruling Shiromani Akali Dal on Wednesday described the allegations levelled by the Congress party against the SAD-BJP combine government in Punjab before the Chief Election Commission of India as “false, baseless and politically motivated”.

“By resorting to such cheap gimmicks, the Congress party has already conceded its defeat even before the start of election,” said the party’s secretary and spokesman Daljit Singh Cheema.

Coming down heavily on the Congress party, Cheema said that this is not the first time that Congress party has demanded imposition of the President’s rule in Punjab. “Almost every month, whenever the Congress party is caught on the wrong foot, it resorts to similar tactics to divert the public attention,” he said.

Cheema said that now, when the people of the state are questioning the role of the Congress leaders in the river waters dispute, the Congress party has again tried to play a mischief by raising the non-issue of law and order in the State.

Stressing that such gimmicks cannot help Congress party win these elections, Cheema said that they should be well prepared to face  a third  consecutive defeat at the hands of SAD-BJP combine.
