Condemning the manhandling of a journalist in Gidderbaha by Congress leaders, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday claimed that Congress is engulfed in “power hangover” within 30 days of coming into power.
Terming the incident as an inhuman act and attack on the freedom of press, AAP’s State convener Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi demanded, “All Congress leaders, who were involved in this shameful act should be immediately arrested to give them an exemplary punishment, so that no one could dare to do in again.”
“After remaining out of power for 10 years, Congress is suffering with indigestion of power and time is ripe that Capt Amarinder Singh should chain his goonda elements well before people take law in their own hands to teach them the lesson,” he said.
Within a month, Congress MlAs and even Minister were seen misbehaving with the people, who voted them to power. “Earlier Forest Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot misbehaved with a woman principal and a day before, an MlA Ramanjit Singh Sikki was seen scolding a Police Officer compeling him to toe the line of Congress,” he said adding that even another MlA Sangat Singh Giljian also threatened a journalist.
Waraich said that instead of fulfilling the promises made in Congress manifesto, Congress leaders were behaving like “Goondas” to threaten people, which is highly deplorable and condemnable.
