Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) would provide a publicity van to its candidates in all 90 Assembly segments for propagating development works carried out by the Congress Government across the State during its last two-tenure.
Haryana Irrigation Minister and Chairman of State Congress Election Campaign Committee, Capt Ajay Singh Yadav, while talking to The Pioneer said, “The move will be a part of the Congress campaign to propagate its policies and work among the masses. These publicity vans will carry all sorts of publicity materials to be distributed among the villages. Besides, an audio cassette has also been prepared to be run in the vans for making the people aware about Government’s development works,” said Yadav.
He maintained the vans would be handed over to the Congress candidates after the announcement of all party tickets for the coming Assembly polls. The candidates would ensure the reach of these vans in all villages of their Assembly constituency concerned, he added.
Meanwhile, lashing out at those local political leaders criticising him for laying foundation stones of development projects, Yadav said foundation stones of only those development projects had been laid whose budget had already been approved and its amount had been credited in the accounts of the authorities concerned.
“These all are the old projects which could not be initiated earlier due to either non-allocation of funds or other technical reasons. Since now, grant for all the development projects has been released hence I have laid the foundation of these projects. Imposition of model code of conduct will not put any effect on construction works of these projects,” said the Minister.
He made it clear that foundation stone of any new project has not been laid in last one month while the Opposition leaders were trying to mislead the people by issuing wrong statements.
Notably, Capt Yadav has unveiled 22 inauguration/foundation stones during last 33 days in his constituency. The move has invited criticism from various quarters with the opposition crying foul and terming it all as ‘a political drama’ to entice the voters while the locals say the Minister should redress their grievances lying unaddressed for a long time.
