Cong asks Badal to use public fund on welfare

Published on:

Taking exception of “wastage of public funds on false propaganda” of development in cities of Punjab by Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal, the State Congress on Friday advised him to spend money on welfare of various sections of society. “Sukhbir is on foundation laying spree and announcing projects worth crores of rupees. Huge public funds are being spent on publicity of  schemes for which there are no funds,” stated Punjab Congress vice-presidents — Charanjit Singh Channi, Gurpreet Singh Kangar, Tarlochan Singh Soond and OP Soni — in a joint statement. They stated that SAD-BJP Government was misleading people by false propaganda of development while the Government has no funds to pay regular salaries of Government employees, pensions to widows and payment to Shagun scheme applicants.
