Himachal Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh began his three-day visit to Sirmaur district on Monday for laying foundation stone for developmental projects.

The CM laid foundation stone for the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) building at Sarahan in Pachaad to be constructed at a cost of Rs 7.14 crore. He also inspected the ongoing work at the Sarahan Government College building and said that an administrative approval for Rs 17 crore was given for the construction. The work of the college was delayed as suitable land was not available earlier.

Virbhadra Singh said that the projects appropriately serve the present needs of education and both the institutions will cater to the students of the area. He directed to speed up the work of both the institutions. Chief Minister also inspected the ongoing work of hospital building at Sarahan to be constructed at a cost of Rs 7 crore. He assured additional funds for the hospital building.

Addressing a gathering at Nihog, he said that the area was not new to him, but said it remained neglected because of the MlA, who never pursued developmental projects. He hinted that whoever would be given a ticket from the Congress for Nahan Assembly Constituency would be the leader of the soil.

The Chief Minister urged the local people to support Congress leader in the coming elections for the betterment of the area. He said that people voted for a person not belonging to Nahan in the last Assembly elections due to which the area remained neglected.
