CM family, OSD shareholders in lender company: Arun Dhumal

In another exposé made by former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal’s youngest son Arun Dhumal, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh’s wife Pratibha Singh, his daughter, son and Officer on Special Duty (OSD) are the shareholders of the company owned by a person, who gave him loan worth Rs 3.9 crore.

According to the documents made public by Dhumal junior on Thursday, wife Pratibha Singh, daughter Aprajita Kumari, son Vikramaditya Singh and OSD Amit Pal Singh are shareholders in the company Tarini Infrastructure limited owned by industrialist Vakamulla Chandershekher, whose hydro electric firm was favoured by current Congress Government. According to the documents, kin of Virbhadra Singh were shareholders in the company since 2012 but the details were absent from the affidavit filed by Chief Minister during Assembly elections last year.

The affidavit filed by the Chief Minister clearly said that both his daughter and son were dependents number one and two. Similarly, details of shares also go missing in the affidavit filed by now Member of Parliament Pratibha Singh to Election Commission of India during Mandi bypoll earlier this year.

Tarini Infrastructure limited is the company named after daughter V Tarini Naidu of Vakamulla Chandershekher. Tarini herself is the shareholder in the company and has 1,54,600 shares in her name while Pratibha Singh has 3,40,000 shares in her names, Aprajita Kumari too has 3,40,000 shares in her name, Vikramaditya Singh has 3,00,000 shares in his name.

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh’s OSD Amit Pal Singh has 10,000 shares in his name in the company. Names of all of them feature in the list of 129 shareholders on September 29, 2012. “Since Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and his wife Pratibha Singh had both concealed information of shares in a company, their memberships of the Assembly and Parliament should be terminated by Election Commission of India (ECI),” demanded Arun Dhumal.

“Vakamulla Chandershekher owns 16 companies including companies registered in Switzerland and other countries. His company Venture Energy and Technologies ltd has been favoured by Congress Government on September 4, 2013 by a Cabinet decision in which extension was granted to 17MW hydel power project for 10 months,” said Arun Dhumal.
