Virbhadra Singh, who became Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh for the record sixth time last year, counted on the achievements of his Government a day before the first anniversary celebrations and said that his priority is all-round development of the State.
Singh was sworn in as Chief Minister for the sixth time on December 25, 2012. “Our Government is the most responsive Government to the common man and would ensure all round development of the State without any regional bias,” said the Chief Minister, addressing a news conference here on Tuesday.
Counting on the achievements of his one year old Government, Virbhadra said that among others the most important scheme launched in the State is Rajiv Gandhi Ann Yojana, a central scheme for food security.
“Yes, this is a central scheme but we have value added a component into the scheme and now along with BPl families even the APl families are getting subsidised food grains in the State,” said the Chief Minister.
On Industries, he said three new industrial areas are being developed in the State and claimed investments are flowing due to industrial friendly environment. The Chief Minister said that current Congress Government has adopted the poll manifesto of the party as policy document of the State Government for fulfillment of promises made to the people of the State during the Vidhan Sabha election held last year.
Singh also counted on around 100 schemes, initiated by his year old Government. “State Government’s ambitious scheme called Skill Development Allowance (SDA) is being given to the unemployed youth to enhance their skills and get job in today’s competitive world,” added the Chief Minister.
Virbhadra Singh also lashed out at the Opposition BJP for deciding to bring out a chargesheet against his Government saying no amount of threat, counter-threat or pressure can affect him. “I have gone through worst of times, have even faced session court trials but have come out clean,” added Singh.
“It is for the first time in my political career, I am seeing that a political party is coming out with a chargesheet against one year rule of a Government,” he said, adding, “let them shout from the mountain, I am least bothered about such charges.”
He alleged that opposition is bringing out the chargesheet only to divert the attention of people as they are facing the heat of investigation in their wrongdoings.
Singh also lauded the coordination between Congress party and the State Government and said that both are working in proper coordination. On the question of one person-one post, the Chief Minister said that it is for the party high command to take a call on the issue.
