Chattha: Enough money to execute all schemes

Published on:

Haryana Finance Minister HS Chattha on Thursday said that the finances of the State are healthy and robust and enough money is available with the State Government for implementing all the schemes announced by the Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, recently.

Discounting reports and refuting suggestions to the contrary, Chattha, in a statement issued here, said that adequate resources were available with the state to take care of the day-to-day expenses and finance all planned development works. Financial resources won’t be a constraint for the growth and development of the State.

He said that development works for welfare of the people had been executed at an unprecedented pace during the last nine years by the State Government. The plan size, which was just Rs2,108 crore in 2004-05, has increased six folds to Rs12,228 crore in 2012-13 and a provision of Rs18,000 crore has been made for 2013-14. This is besides the expenditure incurred by various boards, corporations and local bodies on development projects, he added.

He said, “On account of the slowing down of the economy of the country during the last two years, the rate of growth of revenue receipts fell slightly in 2013-14.

To cope with it, appropriate modifications have been made in the process of implementation of the plan. Priority shall be given to completion of the on-going schemes and projects to ensure that the benefit of projects and schemes on hand start reaching the people at the earliest.

There is no ban on starting new projects, and schemes, but these have been re-prioritised to ensure that such projects as are more urgently needed for the welfare of public are taken up first, Chattha said.
