Governor of Haryana and Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh UT, Kaptan Singh Solanki on Saturday said that the Railway Station of Chandigarh was planned to be constructed on lines of Berlin Railway Station of Germany and work has been allotted to the same Company which got the Berlin Railway Station constructed.
The Chandigarh Railway Station will meet International Standard, with no shortcomings in it, he said
Speaking in a Symposium at Gurgaon, he said Chandigarh would be declared 'Slum Free City' in coming 3-4 years. Everybody in Chandigarh would have a house. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that by 2022, everybody in the country will have roof on his head and no one will be without a house.
He said that Gurgaon has Industrial Policy and IT Policy but for Chandigarh, the proposal of having an Industrial Policy was being considered now. He said that Chandigarh was not an Industrial City, though it was rightly called 'city beautiful'.
