The Centre on Tuesday directed Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Union Territory of Chandigarh to publicise the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PMKSNY).
Joint Secretary, Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Ministry, Abhilaksh Likhi on Tuesday held a review meeting with the officers of concerned States and Union Territory in connection with the scheme. Discussion was held to implement this scheme at the earliest so that the benefits of this scheme could be made available to small and marginal farmers.
Officers of three main departments of these States namely Revenue Department, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department and NIC were present in the meeting as these departments would play an important role in implementing the scheme, said an official spokesman.
During the meeting, Likhi said that the record of the land of the farmers of small and marginal sections having up to two hectares of land will be prepared on the basis of February 1.
