Responding to the request of BJP leaders, Union Health Minister, Jagat Prakash Nadda has announced immediate financial assistance of Rs80 lakh for the renovation of Shahidi Park of Kargil heroes.
It is now proposed to convert the entire historic Seri Pavilion into a beautiful memorial for the Kargil heroes who laid down their lives for capturing Kargil from the illegal possession of Pakistan Army. Virbhadra Singh is also likely to announce further allocation for the memorial during his week—long visit to Mandi beginning from April 29.
Seri Pavilion is a witness to many public meetings from the days of Independence struggle and the top leaders of the country including Atal Bihari Vajpayee and State leaders like Dr YS Parmar had addressed mammoth public meeting from the Pavilion.
