Aimed at ensuring ease of business, Punjab Government has put in place a Centralized Inspection System (CIS) for the industrial sector “to facilitate trade and business activities” in the state.
Sharing this, the state Industries and Commerce Minister Sunder Sham Arora on Wednesday said that the move is to ensure that the industrialists, interested in establishing their units and carrying out business activities, receive services in a transparent and time-bound manner. He said that the State Government has notified the CIS under which the Labour Department, Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) and Boiler would inspect the industrial units in a coordinated manner.
“The Labour Department and PPCB would conduct the inspection in a single day, the information of which would be conveyed to the concerned unit in advance,” he said.
