Haryana will be included among four selected States of the country where central application will be launched by the Election Commission of India for data concerning the electors.
Apart from Haryana, application will be launched simultaneously in Chandigarh, Goa and Madhya Pradesh on December 19, said an official spokesman.
He said that officers ranging from Electoral Registration Officers, District Electoral Officers and Chief Electoral Officer to Booth level Officer (BlO), computer operator and supervisors would be able to use this application.
The spokesman said that while the District Electoral Officer and Chief Electoral Officer would be able to keep a vigil on the entire election process through this application, the services of other officers would be used for uploading of voters data.
He said that initially, the computer operator would feed the data of elector and send it to BlO for verification and after this he would validate it. The supervisor would scrutinize the data with the help of the app and send it for the approval of Electoral Registration Officer.
The Electoral Registration Officer could call the elector for personal hearing and also approve or reject the concerned entry, said he.
The spokesman said that during the entire process, the required document would be scanned and uploaded with the help of app. This would facilitate both Electoral Registration Officer and voters.
Once the data is uploaded through the app, it could be seen by the concerned officer anywhere in the country. Besides, the concerned officers would also get instant information about the change of assembly constituency by the any voter. This would help in eliminating duplicacy of voters list, he added.
He said that the Commission is also going to start a new process for service voters under which all the service voters would be sent postal ballot electronically in one go. For this, the registration of the concerned service voter would be done by his headquarter. This process would significantly help in saving time, he added.
