CCTV cameras to be installed outside MCM DAV college

Taking serious note on the girl student’s complaint of teasing them outside the MCM DAV college, Chandigarh Police on Friday decided to install Close Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras near the MCM DAV of Sector-36.The decision of installing the CCTV cameras was taken after the girls raised question to the Senior Superintendent of UT police, during an interaction in an event on Thursday, at the college campus. 

The girl student had asked Sukhchain Singh Gill, SSP, Chandigarh police “why even after police deployment outside our college, the Gerhi of boys is not stopped’. However in reply to this, the SSP said it will be done in upcoming days.Urvija Goel, ASP (South), UT Police said “We have proposed to set up CCTV cameras outside the campus of MCM DAV.

Though we cannot stop every vehicles, passing from the route, but through the CCTV cameras it will be easy to identify the miscreants who create trouble for girl students. Appropriate action will be taken against them. We have written the college authorities about the plan, following which the CCTV cameras will be set up.”
