CBI inspector suspended for thrashing Chandigarh cop

A day after CCTV footage of a suspended inspector of Chandigarh Police, being allegedly thrashed by CBI officials, went viral on internet, a CBI inspector was suspended on Monday.

After scrutinising the CCTV footage of the Police Post Burail, Ashok Kumar Yadav, Inspector, CBI, has been suspended for thrashing Rajesh Shukla, who was nabbed by CBI while allegedly accepting Rs 10,000 bribe along with two other cops, on September 3, said Tarun Guaba, SP/CBI.

The order, to suspend Ashok Kumar Yadav with immediate effect, has been issued and an inquiry will be conducted in this matter. As per the initial investigations, only Ashok Yadav was found hitting Shukla. Strict action will be taken if other CBI officials are also found involved, added Guaba.

Meanwhile, Rajesh Shukla has also considered giving a formal complaint in this regard to the higher authorities seeking to file a case against the CBI officials. “I will shoot off a complaint to the UT IGP RP Upadhyaya, SP CBI and human rights commission. The CBI sleuths soon after arresting me started hitting me. I also questioned them that why were they hitting me,” said Shukla.

Shukla, who is presently out on bail, said, “I would take up the issue with seniors and will provide evidence with my claim. The inspector in raiding party Ashok Kumar had hit me and the other UT cops, who were nabbed along with him.”

Earlier also he shot off a communique to Inspector General of Chandigarh police, through his advocate that he was framed without any fault. He was fixed up because of the internal Chandigarh police politics.

On September 3, Shukla along with two others, Head Constable Mukesh Kumar and Constable Dilbaj Singh, posted with Sector 34 police station, was arrested by CBI for allegedly demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 10,000 from a parking contractor.
