The ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Sunday said that Punjab Congress president Capt Amarinder Singh was insulting the intelligence of the NRIs by giving himself good governance certificates even though he had presided over a Government more known for its scams than anything else.
“let me refresh your memory in case you have forgotten the scams of your Government for which you are facing trail even now,” said SAD general secretary Maheshinder Singh Grewal.
He said that the scams included the ludhiana City Centre scam, the Amritsar Improvement Trust scam and the Intranet scam, all of which concerned Amarinder and his family directly.
Besides this, the Amarinder “raj” in Punjab had also witnessed the sports department scam in which his media advisor BIS Chahal had been accused of wrong doing and the Bitumen scam involving then PWD minister Partap Singh Bajwa, he pointed.
“Are these including brutal lathi charge on protesting girl students at PAU-ludhiana and repeated clean chits given by you including that given to former minister Gurchet Bhullar in a murder case, an example of good governanceIJ” asked Grewal.
As regards unemployment, Grewal said Amarinder should tell NRIs how many new jobs he created during his period as CM. "Is it not true that you put a ban on recruitment and no new jobs were createdIJ", he asked.
Meanwhile, Grewal said that SAD’s assertion that Amarinder and his coterie were holidaying abroad was proven with pictures of Congress MlAs and leaders partying to the accompaniment of liquor emerging in the social media.
