Emerging stronger after the removal of dissidents, Punjab Congress president Capt Amarinder Singh on Wednesday came out all guns at the Badals threatening to put the father-son duo behind bars for the “mess” they have created, if he was elected to power.

Addressing the political conference of the party here on Baisakhi in a show of strength, Capt Amarinder said that Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal had been using the Satluj Yamuna link Canal to hide all his administrative failures.

He said that Badal was trying hard to keep the dispute of SYl alive and he had shown his dual colours by not getting the assent on the bill for de-notifying the land meant for construction of SYl. He said that the Government had left a big lacunae in the matter under consideration of the Supreme Court by not getting the assent of the Governor.

Addressing a massive gathering in a pavilion stretched on around 14 acres, he said now if Punjab loses the case in the Supreme Court, then Badal might try to present himself to be a martyr by resigning from the post. Roaring in his old tones, he said that coming to power in 2002, he had sent the father-son duo to prison, and this time again there are numerous reasons, for which the Badals owe an answer to the people of the State.

Alleging vendetta, Capt Amarinder said that Congress after coming to power will punish those who have got fake FIRs registered against the Congress supporters and who got them registered.

Reminding the people of Bargari and Behbal Kalan the incidents of sacrilege and the investigation that followed, Capt Amarinder said that Badal, who claims to be saviour of Panth, himself was behind the incidents of sacrilege.

Taking on the Aam Aadmi Party, the Punjab Congress chief said that the AAP has only tried to mislead people by their double-speak. Condemning the AAP stand on ‘crusade against corruption,’ he said that the party had been spending crores of Rupees in advertisement related to Delhi in Punjab. leaving a poser for AAP, he said, whether this is not corruption when a party gets advertisements on Government expenses in the other StateIJ

Folk singer Hans Raj Hans, who had recently joined the Congress after leaving ruling Shiromani Akali Dal said that the Badal’s rule was akin to the rule of Gaddafi and the day was not far when people will throw them out of the office.

Ex-CM Rajinder Kaur Bhattal said that the State had witnessed unprecedented farmer suicides during the tenure of Badals, and now this is the time to come together and bring Capt Amarinder Singh to rule.

In an attempt to clear air about his alleged nexus with SAD, Manpreet Badal took oath by his children that he will never get back to Akalis.

Congress legislative party leader Charanjeet Singh Channi, Campaign Committee chief Ambika Soni, Sunil Jakhar, Mohammad Sadiq and Singer Balkar Sidhu also addressed the gathering among others.
