Capt rejects AAP's charges of Golden Temple picture on posters

Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Capt Amarinder Singh on Sunday rejected Aam Aadmi Party leader Sukhpal Khaira's charges that Congress used picture of the Golden Temple on its posters.

“Whole of Punjab and the Punjabi community world over knows my commitment and the credentials too well to be questioned by someone like Khaira,” he said.

“Khaira is trying to be more loyal than the king without realising that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, whom he is trying to please, will just use and throw him like a paper napkin,” he said after attending ‘bhog’ ceremony of Kartar Kaur, mother of the local MlA Kuljit Singh Nagra.

The former Chief Minister alleged that Kejriwal has a “congenital habit of using

and throwing away” people, like he did with Anna Hazare, Prashant Bhushan, Yogendra Yadav, and “many others”.

AAP spokesperson Sukhpal Khaira, a former Congress MlA, had a day before alleged that the SAD and the Congress had allegedly used photo of the Golden Temple with party symbols on their posters.

Punjab Congress chief claimed that the Congress was only option left in Punjab for the people. “It is not just anti-incumbency against the Akalis, it is a deep-rooted aversion and hostility borne out of abuse of power by them during all these years,” he said.

“Wait and let the election process begin, the Akalis will find it difficult to venture out of their homes even, leave aside campaigning and seeking votes,” he remarked, adding that they may not even find candidates for all the constituencies.

At the same time, Capt Amarinder added that AAP was completely “incompetent and inexperienced”.

“The way they are committing fatal mistakes one after another only validates the public perception that they are not only but incompetent as well…Just forging a ragtag alliance of opportunists and rejected people does not make a political party qualified enough to govern,” he said.

Strongly rejecting that there was any difference of opinion or communication gap between him and the party’s Chief Spokesperson and senior leader Sunil Jakhar, Capt Amarinder said: “I am completely with him on the issue of SYl.”

He made it categorically clear that Jakhar is one of the senior most and well respected leaders of the party who has always been working for strengthening the party in Punjab.
