Capt: Dy CM trying to run away from Jalalabad

Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Capt Amarinder Singh on Sunday said that the Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal was trying to run away from Jalalabad and exploring the options of fighting from Maur Mandi in Bathinda, as he had completely lost touch with the people over here.

“But no matter how much he tries to run away, we will chase and defeat him wherever he goes”, said Capt Amarinder while talking to the reporters after interacting with the party workers during his first interaction under the ‘Halqe vich Captain’ programme.

Capt said that he was told by the people here that Sukhbir hardly visited them. “So much so in one of the villages in his constituency, 37 farmers committed suicide and he did not care to visit there,” he said, adding that these were indications that he had given up on Jalalabad. PPCC president said that it was matter of few months more, once the elections are announced the Akalis will not dare to venture out. “Sukhbir understood that people did not like him and he had already started avoiding meeting them and focusing mostly on his private business like building his five star hotels and the transport business,” he said.

Responding to a query on starting his outreach programme from a constituency represented by the Deputy Chief Minister, Capt Amarinder said that this was to show as what is the plight of the people who sent Sukhbir to the Vidhan Sabha with such a huge margin as he had completely forgotten them.

“I wanted to make a point that if the plight of people living in Deputy Chief Minister’ constituency can be so pitiable, what will be the condition in rest of the state,” he said, asking that if he could not bother to visit village, where 37 farmers committed suicide, in his own assembly segment, how much will he be bothered or interested about rest of the state.

On the issue of allotment of tickets, he said that winability will be the only criterion.

He expressed confidence that there will be no rebels and the party rank and file will be united to defeat the Akalis.

“INDISCIPlINE NOT BE TOlERATED AT ANY COST IN THE PARTY”

A day after Punjab Congress leaders entered a scuffle in full public view, Capt Amarinder announced that indiscipline will not be tolerated at any cost in the party. He announced that a block president in lambi, who had indulged in indiscipline during Saturday’s protest dharna had been suspended from the party. At the same time, he warned that such incidents will not be tolerated at any cost come what may.
