Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Capt Amarinder Singh on Sunday designated senior leader of the party and former Congress legislative Party leader Sunil Jakhar to monitor the developments related to `12,000 wheat scam unearthed recently.
Besides, he also asked Jakhar to monitor the wheat procurement process in the State since he himself will be away on a three-week tour of the United States and Canada.
“Given the experience and insight and the committed pursuit of Jakhar to probe into and highlight various problems Punjab is faced with, I am confident that he will ensure that the Akalis are completely exposed for the cheating and fraud they have committed with people of Punjab and the case is taken to its logical conclusion,” said Capt Amarinder, in a statement.
He said that Jakhar will also be chalking out the course of action and agitation to be launched to ensure that the culprits are exposed and brought to the book.
