Raja Malwinder Singh, the younger brother of the Congress candidate Capt Amarinder Singh will be campaigning in the Majitha Assembly segment for the Congress.
Malwinder said he had selected Majitha as people there were being terrorised by Bikram Singh Majitha and his supporters. He said, since Capt Amarinder will have to campaign in all the nine Assembly segments of the Amritsar parliamentary constituency, he will not be able to devote much time in Majitha.
Malwinder said, he wanted to reassure the people of Majitha that the entire family of Capt Amarinder was with them and will always stand by them. “People are with us and they are ready to take on Mr. Majithia they just needed a reassurance and I am there for them and with them, always,” he said, when asked why he had chosen Majitha only. The brother of Capt Amarinder had recently left the Akali Dal to rejoin Congress
Capt takes a dig at Sukhbir Badal
Amritsar: Congress candidate from Amritsar, Capt Amarinder Singh took a dig at Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal saying the Akali leader would be disappointed after the poll results.
To a question about Sukhbir saying that he (Sukhbir) will leave politics if Capt Amarinder returned to Amritsar after April 30, the former Chief Minister shot back, “I am sorry, he will again be badly disappointed”.
“Earlier he used to say that I will not even come to Amritsar and won’t even be seen during the campaigning and now he has changed his statement”, he pointed out, while adding, “This is not unexpected of a mind that is thoroughly hallucinated for multiple reasons and I am sure he will not resign from politics after he sees me in Amritsar even after April 30, because he is a congenital liar like his father”.

Amritsar: President Youth Akali Dal and Punjab Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia on Saturday declared that the election of Amritsar lok Sabha seat would prove to be a ‘last and lost battle for the Captain’ of sinking ship of Congress as electorate have already made up their mind to give historic drubbing to reluctant Congress candidate.
He said that mature and educated electorate of Amritsar have made up their mind to elect Arun Jaitley for continuing accelerated development of Amritsar rather than Captain Amarinder Singh, who is all set to flee from the city.
Majithia alleged that people know that the Captain, who was not visible even as Chief Minister and his Ministers had to seek the services of detective agencies to locate his whereabouts and it would be foolhardy to expect Captain Amarinder Singh to show his face.
