BJP chief Amit Shah on Sunday claimed that people of Haryana have rejected the politics of dynasty and corruption, which prevailed during the previous Hooda and Chautala governments in the state.
Shah, while addressing a rally here, also attacked Congress president Rahul Gandhi saying that his ambition of becoming the Prime Minister would not be fulfilled.
“Rahul baba, your number won't come to become the PM of this country as people have made up their minds to bring back the Modi government,” Shah said.
Referring to the state of affairs in Haryana, Shah said that the BJP got the residents rid of three Ds – Damaad, Darbaari and Dealers.
He said that the residents of Haryana long tolerated the regimes of Hooda-Chautala during which corruption and failure of law and order were matters of concern for every resident. They only maligned and tarnished the image and name of Haryana, the BJP chief alleged.
Shah said that Haryana also got ill-fame due to the ‘Aya Ram Gaya Ram’ concept of former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal.
Referring to the Chautala family, Shah said no other qualified person could stand before grandfather- grandson. As soon as the grandson becomes eligible to vote, he is given the party ticket for contesting the election, Shah said adding that how can a party which only promotes dynastic politics deliver the results in the state on various fronts. Continuing his tirade against the Congress, he said that it was unfortunate the Congress’ ally former Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah of National Conference demanded a second Prime Minister for Jammu & Kashmir.
Shah said that Rahul Gandhi should understand in clear terms that Modi will return as Prime Minister and he will not allow that (separate Prime Minister for J&K) to happen.
The Congress scion is no match for Modi who in office as Gujarat Chief Minister for 14 years and Prime Minister for 5 years has not taken even a day’s leave, he said.
The BJP chief on Sunday addressed rallies at Sonipat and Panipat falling in Sonipat and Karnal Lok Sabha constituencies respectively in Haryana, where the elections to the 10 Lok Sabha seats will be held in the sixth phase of polling on May 12.
Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Haryana again on May 10 to address rallies at Barwala and Charkhi Dadri. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also scheduled to address rallies in Fatehabad and Kurukshetra on May 8 and at Rohtak on the last day of campaigning on May 10.
