Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Department has released the calendar of youth affairs activities for the year 2013-14. These activities would start with adventure sports activities with the objective to instill risk taking capacity, appreciation of nature and ecology among youth.
Principal Secretary, Sports, Amit Jha said that 3 lakh selected youth would be benefitted by these activities which have been especially planned to empower Youth to develop life skills, sensitisation and awareness against wholesome habits and social evils, cultural development, vocational trainings, career guidance, personality development and various other national building programmes.
Jha said that adventure Water Sports activities will be held between 16 May and 30 May in Regional Water Sports Center, Pong Dam in District Kangra of Himachal Government.
As many as 105 boy participants would attend 14 days Basic Water Sports Course in this Institution upto 30 May.
He said that girls would attend this course from 16 June to 30 June. Simultaneously, four batches of boys and girls from all over the districts would undergo river rafting course in Ganga at Kodiala, Rishikesh under Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam.
