Haryana Government on Sunday held a brainstorming session with Additional Chief Secretaries/ Principal Secretaries of various departments on the proposed industrial policy document here. As many as 98 action points identified by the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry, along with the 24 services proposed by the DIPP for inclusion under the Right to Service Act, were taken up for discussion at the meeting.

While inputs of senior officers were taken on the vision, mission and strategic interventions to be incorporated in the policy, department-specifc issues were also debated in detail. The departments have been advised to send in their inputs on the timelines for the action points/services so that those could be notified. The DIPP would undertake a comparative study of all the states in terms of ease-of-doing business in June-July 2015, said a Government spokesperson.

Haryana’s new industrial policy is likely to provide ease-of-doing business, provide for time-bound clearances and approvals with provision for deemed approvals, posit the state as a pre-eminent investment destination, and facilitate employment generation through sustainable and balanced growth and dispersal of industry to  backward areas.

The policy would revolve around the pivot of infrastructure development, simplification of labour and environmental laws, innovation through technology business incubators and support to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) sector as well as the services sector which accounts for 57 per cent of the State Gross Domestic Product.
