In a heart-rending tragedy, a young boy of 16 died in front of the local DAV school, here, located on the national highway Wednesday morning when school vans had crowded the busy national highway.

The speeding deceased minor boy on the motor-cycle rammed against a school van and his scalp was broken into pieces. Tragically, he was not wearing helmet. Ironically in this small town, spread in an area of a kilometre, locals allege that posting of traffic police is erratic.

Prem Kumar Thakur, Senior Superintendent of Police, has warned the owners of vehicles including two-wheelers that those giving vehicles to minors would be dealt with an iron hand. Besides confiscating the vehicles, they would be proceeded against various provisions of law, including cancellation of licenses as this posed a grave threat to human lives and property.
