Former State President of Aam Aadami Party (AAP) and an Independent candidate from Dehradun Cantt assembly constituency Anoop Nautiyal got an electoral boost on Friday when the Uttarakhand Bachao Morcha (UBM) an umbrella organization of like minded political parties coordinated by Uttarakhand Raksha Morcha Chief V K Bahuguna announced its support to him. Announcing the decision, Bahuguna said that the Morcha has decided to support Nautiyal because of his clean public image and credentials. He said that the Morcha would also lend its support to former scientist H B Dimri who is contesting from Dharmpur assembly constituency. Dimri is in the fray on the ticket of Sarva Vikas Party. Bahuguna said that persons like Anoop Nautiyal and Dimri should be elected to the state assembly so that they can raise the problems of the people in an effective way. He said that Samanata Manch of government employees is also supporting the Morcha as it has expressed solidarity with their mission of removing reservation in promotions.
Morcha has not fielded its candidates in the assembly elections but is lending its support to selected candidates. Till now it has declared its support in Sahaspur, Doiwala, Rishikesh, Dehradun Cantt, Dharmpur, Ghansali, Pauri and Tharali assembly constituencies.
Speaking on the occasion Nautiyal thanked the Morcha for the support extended to him. He said that he is receiving a very good support from all sections of the society and claimed that the election result from Dehradun Cantt would be shocking for BJP and Congress. Nautiyal said that ‘Uttarakhand Vikalp’ of former Governor lt General M M lakhera (Retd) too has extended its support to him. Dimri who was also present on the occasion said that all the candidates supported by UBM have taken a pledge that they would remain in Morcha even after getting elected to the State assembly.
