BJP's 'Missed Call' drive to ring in UT voters

Pulling out all stops to woo voters of Chandigarh, the city BJP will launch ‘Missed Call’ campaign to deliver party’s kit comprising its vision document, manifesto and other documents at the doorstep of city residents.

The city party unit will soon launch a helpline number where the city denizens interested in knowing about party’s ideology and vision can give a missed call. After registering their missed call, the party members would deliver party’s kit at the doorstep of residents. The kit would comprise the party’s vision document, Chandigarh election manifesto, a detailed account about party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, among other documents.

At present, the party is in process to set up a call centre to launch the ‘Missed Call’ campaign. The campaign is likely to be launched by the end of this month. Chandigarh BJP president, Sanjay Tandon said, “The party would soon launch the ‘Missed Call’ campaign. Under this campaign, the party would be able to provide documents related to party’s vision, manifesto and other related material to the city denizens.”

He added, “A call centre would be set up for the ‘Missed Call’ campaign. And, a helpline number would be launched soon.” Elaborating about the campaign, a senior party leader said, “Under this campaign, the party would launch a helpline number and would promote it across the city. The residents can give a missed call on the helpline number. After this, the workers of party’s youth wing will contact them and register caller’s information including his/her name and address. The youth wing workers would then deliver the documents related to the party’s vision, manifesto among others to the registered callers at their home.”

He added, “The party is finalising these documents and the campaign would be launched during this month. The ‘Missed Call’ campaign is aimed at apprising the city residents about BJP’s ideology ahead of lok Sabha polls.” Ahead of the crucial polls, the party has been utilising all potential means of communication to reach out to voters of both urban and rural areas in the city. From invading the social networking platforms to marching through the streets, BJP leaders are apparently giving their best shot to create awareness among the masses.

The party is reaching out to the voters through SMS campaigns, its website and other social networking outlets, including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Out of the power for more than a decade in Chandigarh, the BJP is trying hard this time to wrest Chandigarh seat from Congress in the upcoming polls. With an aim to accomplish party’s 272 plus mission, the city party unit has also launched a number of campaigns to spread ‘Narendra Modi for PM’ message across the city. These campaigns included ‘One Note, Kamal Pe Vote’, ‘NaMo Tea Party’, ‘Nayi Soch, Nayi Umeed, Nayi Rajneeti’ and ‘Kamal Mehandi & Rangoli’ campaign.
